*  NOTE:  The southeastern states endured a very wet fall caused by two tropical storms and one hurricane.  Excessive
   rainfall along with persistent cloudy, drizzly conditions delayed soybean harvest, thus severely impacting soybean quality
   and maturity to degree that the data is not included in this final report and will not be used in the long term soybean quality
   and maturity averages.
1.  Yields calculated at 13% moisture.
2.  Lodging rating:  Rated 1 (all plants erect) to 5 (over 80% of plants down).
3.  Seed quality rating:  Rated 1 (very good) to 5 (very poor).
4.  Shattering rating:  Rated 1 (no shattering) to 5 (>50% pods shattered).
5.  CV = 8.2% and df for EMS = 46.
6.  The F-test indicated no statistical differences at the alpha = .10 probability level; therefore, a LSD value was not
     calculated.
7.  CV = 15.6% and df for EMS = 50.
8.  CV = 12.3% and df for EMS = 62.
Bolding within each test denotes entries with yields equal to the highest yielding entry based on Fisher's
protected LSD (P = 0.10).
Planted: May 10, 2002.
Harvested: Maturity Group V - October 1, 2002.
Maturity Group VI - October 21, 2002.
Maturity Groups VII & VIII - November 7, 2002.
Seeding Rate: Ten seeds per foot in 30" rows.
Soil Type: Tifton loamy sand.
Soil Test: P = High, K = High, and pH = 5.9.
Fertilization: 14 lb N, 40 lb P2O5, and 81 lb K2O/acre.
Previous Crop: Corn.
Management: Subsoiled and bedded, rototilled; Treflan, Lasso, Basagran, Poast, and one cultivation used for weed
control; Karate used for insect control; Telone II used for nematode control; irrigated 13.0 inches.
